SPACER DIFF ROVER SD1, TR7, TR8

Triumph TR7, tube type axle
(5 speed manual, plus 1977 on automatic), not banjo type axle
(i.e. not 4 speed manual, or automatic up to 1976).
Triumph TR8 (all models)
Rover SD1 (all models)

UKC979 is the metric version of the imperial dimensioned 156903 (which BMH has also made in the past), which fits just about every Triumph, other than 5 speed TR7 and TR8, from 1952 to 1980. Unfortunately, 156903 and UKC979 are too different to be interchangeable, so poor old TR7 5 speed, TR8 and Rover SD1 owners needing a rebuilt axle have been really stuck for many years - the collapsible spacer is absolutely necessary for setting the pinion bearings when reassembling the differential. The TR7/8 5 speed axle and the Rover SD1 axle are one and the same internally.
